Fire flared up in metro bus at Rehman Abad station and the bus was reduced to ashes Thursday.
According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson the 7 fire tenders rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire. The commuters made hairbreadth escape from the burning bus. However no loss of life was reported.
The preliminary reports from the authorities said the fire broke out due to leakage of diesel.
The eye witnesses on the other hand said the diesel started leaking in the bus from Waris Khan bus stop. \The commuters informed the driver about leakage of diesel but he remained heedless.
The metro bus service has been suspended from Rawalpindi to Islamabad. The bus was shifted to metro depot with the help of crane.
