Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed officially assumed charge as the new Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar here on Thursday in a formal ceremony held at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by SSP Operations Masood Ahmed, SP Headquarters Ali Gauhar, and other senior police officials.
Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed later laid a floral wreath at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial and offered prayers for the departed souls, national security, and lasting peace in the region.
In his first official address, CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed paid tribute to police martyrs, calling their sacrifices “a golden chapter in the history of the nation.” He reaffirmed his commitment to upholding law and order, ensuring public safety, and pursuing a people-centric policing approach.
“The Peshawar Police belongs to the people. We are here to serve and protect, and no abuse of public rights will be tolerated under any circumstances,” he stated.
Issuing a stern warning to criminal elements, he declared, “There is no room for land mafias, smugglers, and extortionists in Peshawar. I give them 24 hours to leave the city, or they will face strict legal action.”
Dr. Mian Saeed emphasized that corruption within the police force will not be tolerated. He directed senior officers to compile lists of known criminal elements, stating that no one, regardless of their influence, will be above the law.
“The protection of people’s lives and property is our top priority. We are ready to go to any extent, even sacrifice ourselves, to restore peace and justice in the city,” he added.
The newly appointed CCPO’s strong stance and immediate directives signal a firm commitment to restoring public trust and eliminating criminal networks from the provincial capital.
