Distributes Relief Cheques and Reaffirms Government’s Commitment to Workers’ Welfare

Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, paid a detailed visit to the flood-affected areas of District Buner, where he distributed relief cheques among affected workers on behalf of the Workers Welfare Fund (WWF). He was accompanied by Federal Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry and Secretary WWF Zulfiqar Ahmed.
Upon his arrival, Deputy Commissioner Buner Kashif Qayyum briefed the federal minister on the extent of devastation caused by the recent floods.
During his interaction with the affected workers, Chaudhry Salik Hussain expressed solidarity and assured them of the federal government’s full support in this difficult time. He underscored the importance of unity, compassion, and service to humanity beyond political affiliations, emphasizing:
“We are all Pakistanis, and in testing times, we must stand together as one nation.”
The minister reaffirmed that the Workers Welfare Fund will continue to extend assistance until the complete rehabilitation and restoration of the affected communities is achieved.
Later, Chaudhry Salik Hussain visited the flood-hit village of Malikabad, where he offered fateha for those who lost their lives in rain and flood-related incidents. He met with bereaved families to personally convey condolences, stating that he had come as a representative of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the affected people.
He also directed the Deputy Commissioner Buner to submit a comprehensive report on infrastructure restoration needs to the Federal Secretary for onward action.
