Minister Excise Syed Fakhar Jehan Visits Daggar Hospital at Buner

Provincial minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jehan, paid a visit to Daggar Hospital in Buner on Saturday, where he inspected various wards, met with patients and inquired about the medical facilities being provided to them.
The minister also reviewed the under-construction section of the hospital and examined the progress of the ongoing development project in detail.
During the visit, Syed Fakhar Jehan directed the hospital administration to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services to the people, terming it as the foremost priority of the provincial government.
He stated that the provincial government is taking every possible step for the welfare of the public, introducing reforms and practical measures to improve the health sector. He added that the government’s special focus is to provide basic healthcare facilities at the doorstep of citizens, ensuring that no one has to travel long distances for medical treatment.
The provincial minister made it clear that negligence in healthcare delivery will not be tolerated, and directed all concerned to perform their duties with a spirit of public service. Highlighting the government’s flagship initiative, Syed Fakhar Jehan said that under the “Sehat Sahulat Programme (Health Card Plus)”, free medical treatment is being provided to all citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in both public and private hospitals.
He termed it an innovative and revolutionary step in the field of public health, which has also been appreciated at the international level.
Under this program, citizens are entitled to free medical treatment, surgeries and other healthcare facilities across the province.
The Minister further stated that the government is committed to transparency, improvement and restoring public confidence in the healthcare system and that efforts will continue to upgrade the quality of services in all hospitals across the province.
