Minister inspects various sections of Bannu Central Jail

BANNU: Provincial minister for public health engineering Pakhtun Yar Khan on Wednesday visited the Bannu Central Jail and inspected administration and operational matters. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Bannu Abdul Hameed Khan, XEN public health and other officials. According to an official handout, the KP minister inspected various sections of the jail, including the barracks, hanging ghat, anchorage, and hospital, and assessed the quality of food provided to the inmates. During his visit, Pakhtun Yar Khan also met with the prisoners to inquire about their well-being. He expressed satisfaction with the existing facilities but emphasized the need for continuous improvements. In particular, he directed XEN Public Health Bannu Fazal Ahmed to ensure the provision of clean drinking water for the inmates. The provincial minister was briefed on the jail’s operations by Deputy Superintendent Mutasam Billah. Pakhtun Yar Khan assured that the provincial government was taking significant steps to address the challenges faced by prisoners. He reiterated the commitment to providing all possible facilities to prisoners in accordance with the constitution and the law, emphasizing that no compromises would be made on their rights and well-being.
