Modern computer lab and student resource center inaugurated at AMC

PESHAWAR: A newly established, state-of-the-art Computer Lab and Student Resource Center was inaugurated at Ayub Medical College (AMC) Abbottabad. The inauguration was led by Vice Chancellor of Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar, Professor Dr. Zia-ul-Haq, alongside Chairman of the AMC Board of Governors, Professor Dr. Abid Jameel. The event was attended by Board of Governors (BoG) member Professor Alamzeb Manan, Dean and CEO of AMC Professor Dr. Saqib Malik, Hospital Director Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Afridi, Medical Director Dr. Imran Khan, IT teams of KMU and AMC, as well as heads of various departments. Speaking at the occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zia-ul-Haq expressed his appreciation for the advanced technology setup. He noted that the lab is equipped with high-performance computers, a modern control room, and other digital tools that will significantly improve the examination system. “This lab marks a new era of transparency in medical education,” he said. “Previously, examinations were paper-based. With this facility, we have now transitioned to computer-based testing, ensuring timely results and helping students complete their five-year course within the designated time frame.” Staff reporter
Professor Dr. Zia-ul-Haq commended the efforts of the Board of Governors and the Dean of AMC for establishing this high-tech facility and announced that all future examinations would be conducted in the new lab. “Immediate result generation will uphold meritocracy and eliminate delays,” he added.
Chairman of the Board of Governors, Professor Dr. Abid Jameel, reiterated the institution’s commitment to modernization. “This lab is just the beginning,” he said. “We aim to transform AMC into the leading medical institution in the province. Our mission is to provide the best possible facilities to students, faculty, doctors, and the public.”
