PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa food department has intensified flour and wheat distributions monitoring measures under the government quota system across the province. Director food department, Rehan Khattak along with ration controller Jamshed Khan on Monday conducted visits to different flour mills in Peshawar and inspected records of flour released to designated dealers under government quota systems. He issued instructions to flour mills owners to ensure regular records of flour given to dealers including wheat received by millers under the quota. The provincial food department was taking pragmatic steps to ensure availability of wheat and flour to millers and people, he added. “The provincial government is taking efforts to provide the commodity on subsided rate without any delay and strict action would be taken against those elements involved in theft or embezzlement in flour supply,” Mr Khattak clarified. It is pertinent to mention here that the KP food department has decided to closely monitor the overall process of flour and wheat supply to millers and people in order to ensure timely availability of the commodity to people across the province.
