PESHAWAR: Town police have arrested an alleged motorcycle lifter involved in motorcycle theft and mobile phone snatching cases and recovered two stolen motorcycles, five mobile phones and cash received from the sale of stolen property, police said on Tuesday. According to a press release issued by Capital City Police Peshawar, the action was carried out on the directives of SP Cantt Division Muhammad Junaid Kharl as part of a crackdown against street crimes and other serious offences. Police said that, under the supervision of DSP Town Circle Shakirullah Afridi, SHO Town Police Station Mubarak Zaib and his team traced and arrested the alleged main suspect involved in motorcycle lifting and mobile phone theft incidents. The arrested suspect was identified as Junaid, son of Muhammad Fayyaz, a resident of Bannu currently living in Naway Kalay, Peshawar. Police said two stolen motorcycles, five valuable mobile phones and thousands of rupees allegedly received after selling stolen motorcycles were recovered from his possession.
