PESHAWAR: Motorway police Sunday fired shots at a suspected car carrying three persons, including a woman, after one of them fired shots on the highway police officials.
According to Motorway police spokesman, a white corolla car bearing number plate CA-116 stopped at an interchange outside Peshawar city. It was heading to Peshawar from Islamabad.
“Police instructed the driver to stop, but he did not, instead, one of them pointed gun at police officer and the driver sped away,” motorway spokesman Muhammad Ali Khokhar told Samaa.
He said police captured one of them and fired shot at the vehicle, but the driver sped the car back to Islamabad. Meanwhile, police chased the suspects whose motives were unknown. One of them was identified as Kashif, a resident of Peshawar.
