MPA hails Sindh–Punjab Katcha operation

MPA Mumtaz Chang appreciated the firm action of the governments of Sindh and Punjab and praised police for the strict joint crackdown underway in the katcha areas of both provinces, urging that criminals as well as corrupt elements within official ranks who facilitate illegal activities be held accountable, while also appealing to the chief ministers to initiate uplift work in these areas.
While speaking exclusively to a local news channel, he said the present government is ensuring that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains its top priority, which, he added was not the case previously.
He further stated that full combat units have been deployed in selected zones after sealing the region.
These measures, he said are part of a well-planned security strategy to restore law and order.
He added that the operation is currently underway and progressing successfully, expressing confidence that the ongoing efforts will soon yield positive results.
Mumtaz Chang said that he truly appreciated both governments and appealed to them to focus on uplift work in the Kacha belt, particularly for better education, improved school road infrastructure and the promotion of peace in the area.
He emphasized that development initiatives in the Kacha belt were essential for long-term stability and prosperity.
He further appealed to the chief ministers of both provinces to ensure that officials involved in facilitating these criminal groups are identified and dealt with strictly.
He stressed that no individual supporting or shielding such elements should be spared, adding, corrupt officials must also be held accountable, emphasizing that without action against internal facilitators, lasting peace and effective law enforcement efforts cannot be achieved.
He said that black sheep within the department must be eliminated, stressing that internal accountability is essential to restore public trust and ensure effective governance.
