Muzzammil lauds inclusion of Kalash Valley in UNESCO list

Adviser to the Chief Minister on Finance Muzzammil Aslam on Wednesday lauded the performance of the provincial Department of Archaeology and Museums, saying the inclusion of Kalash Valley in UNESCO’s World Heritage Tentative List was a significant achievement.
In a statement, Mr Aslam said the milestone had brought recognition to the department and highlighted Pakistan’s cultural heritage at the international level. He credited Dr Abdul Samad for playing a key role in securing the inclusion.
He said Dr Samad’s contributions towards the development of the archaeology and museums sector were commendable, adding that his efforts had benefitted not only the province but the country as a whole.
The adviser said the improved performance of the department reflected positively on the provincial government, terming it a matter of pride.
He also acknowledged the support of UNESCO, its Pakistan head Yahya, and the federal Department of Archaeology, saying their cooperation had helped showcase the country’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage globally.
