The National Assembly on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution calling on the federal and provincial governments to celebrate the blessed occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) through national programmes at the highest level.
The resolution, moved by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, called for the illumination and decoration of highways and roads to mark the occasion.
It urged all government institutions, including educational and business institutions and media houses, to fully participate in the celebrations.
The resolution called for promoting peace, tolerance and brotherhood in accordance with the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa Ahmad Mujtaba, Khatim-un-Nabiyeen (PBUH).
It said the House resolved to promote the Sunnah and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The resolution also appealed to the nation to celebrate the blessed occasion with utmost devotion, respect and unity.
