Islamabad: The Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has ordered to conduct a high-level inquiry against the corrupt officials of bureau allegedly involve in harassing the CDA officials by misusing official status.
He ordered this inquiry through media report saying that investigation officer of Safa Gold Mall (in which corruption worth billion of rupees was made) Ahsan Sargana had harassed those officials of civic agency which had conducted inquiry of this scandal and submit report to NAB while identify the three top officials. Instead of implementing on NAB’s report, the officials who edited the inquiry report including Director Shafi Marwat was targeted and started to harass him while issuing notices to him for over dozen times.
When Shafi Marwat had denied to accept the stance of NAB, then the NAB officials has lodged a FIR against him in Police Station Khosar and started to harass him. After highlighting this news in media, the Chairman NAB has ordered to conduct inquiry of this incident and expressed his resolve to provide legal shelter of CDA’s officials.
Sources told Online that Chairman NAB has directed to hold inquiry against his official Ahsan Sargana and decided to probe his assets and started proceeding on application filed against him. The application states that Ahsan Sargana is the son of Patwari and now leading luxury life after joining the NAB. It is prayed in the application that his illegal assets should be probed.
It is worth-mentioning here that Ahsan Sargana is conducting the inquiry of Safa Gold Mall corruption scandal and this scandal has caused the loss of national exchequer worth billions of rupees. The said plot of Safa Gold Mall was sold to local business man Rana Qayyum at low prices after eradicating the Health Directorate of CDA located in posh area of capital F-7 during the regime of PPP.
The owner of Safa Gold Mall in nexus with CDA’s officials has started to construct more storeys of the Mall. The NAB neither could complete the inquiry of the mega scandal for the last five years nor CDA has succeeded to stop the further construction of storeys of the building.
Ironically, the officials who have disclosed the important characters of this mega corruption scandal, NAB itself is engage in harassing those officials. The Chairman NAB has taken notice of it.
“The NAB gives high significance and importance to those officials who provided documents against corrupt officials and no one would be allowed to hurt their self respect”, the Chairman NAB explained.
