KARACHI (INP): Deputy Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Mr. Imtiaz Tajwar visited NAB Karachi on Friday and distributed cheques of one extra salary to all the officers and staff of NAB Karachi in recognition of best performance amongst all seven regional NABs.
The Deputy Chairman visited NAB Karachi in connection with appraisal of annual performance and appreciated the working of NAB Karachi throughout the year of 2016.
Addressing the ceremony held at NAB Karachi as the chief guest, Imtiaz Tajwar said that NAB is marking today as the historical day on account of introducing competitive point-based evaluation system for appraisal of performance called “Partly Quantified Grading System” (PQGS), which is stringent method of evaluation of quantity as well as quality of investigations on international standards and scientific lines.
He said that the credit goes to the leadership of Chairman NAB Ch. Qamar Zaman for introducing for the first time financial reward in recognition of performance which amounts to more than Rs.10 million and is in addition to the ex-gratia bonus disbursed to the NAB officers every year.
He congratulated DG NAB Karachi Lt. Col (R) Siraj ul Naeem appreciating his professionalism and leadership by virtue of which NAB Karachi was able to earn prestigious award of best performance by the President of Pakistan Mr. Mamnoon Hussain.
DG NAB Karachi Lt. Col (R) Siraj ul Naeem while addressing the ceremony said that during his tenure at Karachi till date NAB Sindh has transformed from average performer to the best performer for which the credit goes to each single officer as well as member of staff of NAB Karachi. He said that NAB Karachi has not only excelled but has also been maintaining the same level of extraordinary performance.
Highlighting the performance he said that during the year 2016, NAB Karachi has filed more than 100 References in Accountability Courts, caused 131 arrests, completed 142 inquires, disposed of 6865 complaints and recovered amount of Rs.1109 million by way of direct recoveries which are in process of disbursal back to the Government departments. Whereas, by way of NAB’s intervention, amount of Rs.915 million was indirectly recovered to various departments including recovery of Rs.306 million from defaulters of electricity which has been disbursed to HESCO.
The ceremony was attended by Brig (R) Hadeed, senior director NAB Maj (R) Sabbir Ahmed, Mr. Farmanullah Khan and all the officers of NAB Karachi.
