Players from KP reached the finals of National Junior Badminton Championship being played at Lahore.
More than 250 boys and girls players from all over the country are participating in the Badminton National Championship in three categories-Under-15, 17, 19 In Under-15 single semi-final KP Abdul Hasib Khan defeated Danish of Punjab, and Rayan Khan defeated Zain Subhani of Punjab. In Under-17 single semi-final, Hamdullah Khalil defeated Najab Al-Saqib of KPK.
For the first time in history, all Under-19 players of KPK reached semi-finals. In the double quarter-final, KPK’s Muhammad Zaid and Najab Al-Saqib defeated Abdullah Gujjar and Hussain Punjab, in the second quarter-final, Qari Umar and Hasher defeated Sawal Shafiq and Junaid of Punjab, in the third double quarter-final, Fahad Ahmed and Hamdullah defeated Hamza Waseem and Zainul Abidin Punjab, while in the fourth and final quarter-final, KPK’s Taimur Khan and Abdul Haseeb Khan defeated Shahzad and Abad.
On this occasion, KP Badminton Association President Zafar Ali, Secretary Amjad Khan, Finance Secretary Syed Sadaqat Shah and Coach Hayatullah congratulated the players and expressed hope that KP players will continue their excellent performance in the final as well and win trophies.
