PESHAWAR
Under a new policy being implemented in government schools across Peshawar, the admission of new Afghan children to government educational institutions has been prohibited.
According to official sources on Monday, details of Afghan students currently enrolled in private educational institutions, as well as those who have been expelled from private schools, have also been sought. The Private Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA) has directed private educational institutions in Peshawar to provide the required information regarding Afghan students. Sources said schools have been asked to submit separate records of Afghan students currently enrolled and those who have been expelled. While the government has imposed a ban on the admission of new Afghan children to government educational institutions, action has also been indicated against private schools that fail to provide the required information.
The registration of private schools could also be cancelled if they fail to comply with the directives.
Implementation of the decision to stop new admissions of Afghan children in government educational institutions has already begun under the new policy.
