NH & MP took strategic steps to reduce accidents rate; Shaukat Hayat

Cash Prizes & Certificate distributed among winnersISLAMABAD(PR):National Highways and Motorways Police conducted road safety drawing and painting competition among the zonal level and road safety speech competition among the students of NICON group of colleges at NH&MP Police Lines Headquarters, Islamabad. The DIG (Operations & Evaluation) Ghulam Rasul Zahid, AIG (HRM) Nasir Mehmood Satti, AIG (Operations) Abbas Ahsan AIG (Log & HQs) Khurram Shahzad, Chairperson NICON group of colleges Aziz Fatima Naz, senior police officers of Motorway Police, academia and a large number of students of NICON group of colleges were also present on this occasion.
As per Judges decision, N-5 (Central) Zone get 1st position in road safety drawing/painting competition, West Zone get 2nd position and Motorway Zone get 3rd position.
In road safety speech competition the students of NICON group of colleges Tahira Akbar get1st position, Hassna and Kashmala get 2nd and 3rd position.
The IG, Shaukat Hayat praised the efforts of these students for taking interest in the road safety awareness activities and urged that the students from the other parts of the country would also take part in the promotion of road safety issues among masses. Shaukat Hayat said to the participants of ceremony that NH&MP introduced new police culture. He said that NH&MP is service oriented force and provision of prompt help to the distressed road users is the hallmark of the department. The well-mannered conduct with commuters, courtesy and indiscriminate enforcement of law must be ensured to enhance the image of NH&MP. He said that National Highways & Motorway Police takes strategic steps like personal briefing of the drivers, organizing road safety seminars and road safety walks to reduce the rate of road traffic accidents. The IG, NH&MP further added that road safety is the priority of NH&MP and the students are deemed to be the best source of road safety education. Therefore, National Highways & Motorway Police starts the road safety education program and campaigns from the grass root level to the students of the university level. He further added that through road safety awareness programmes, we can reduce the accident rate especially by focusing the youth. The management of NICON group of colleges was really grateful to the National Highways and Motorways Police for conducting such chain of informative road safety session.
In the end of the ceremony the IG, NH&MP present Shield to the Chairperson Aziz Fatima Naz NICON group of colleges, furthermore, the IG, NH&MP distributed cash prizes and certificates among the winners of road safety drawing and painting and speech competition.
