ISLAMABAD : Next Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided against inviting foreign delegates to his swearing-in ceremony, PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said on Thursday.

It was reported earlier that Imran Khan wanted leaders from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to attend the function.

However Imran khan has disagreed with the proposal and decided to hold a simple ceremony and no foreign dignitary will be invited, Chaudhry told reporters.

“Khan has directed the authorities to make the oath taking ceremony as simple as possible so it could not become a burden on the government treasury,” he said.

Reports also suggested that PTI wanted to invite Indian celebraties including actor Amir Khan, ex cricketer Navjoot Singh Sidhu and others.

PTI had emerged single largest party in the July25 elections.
Imran Khan is expected to take oath on August 11.
