Provincial food minister Zahir Shah Toru on Monday claimed that the federal government has no power to impose restrictions or ban any political party in the country. He said that the federal government can investigate any anti-national activity and send a reference to the Supreme Court within 15 days.
While reacting to the press conference of Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar regarding the banning of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he said that those talking about banning PTI are living in a fool’s paradise.
The PTI leader and provincial minister claimed that the constitution of the country does not permit the government to impose restrictions on a political party, adding that the power to ban political parties is with the people and there is only one political party in Pakistan that rules the hearts of millions of Pakistan and that is only PTI.
He said that after the recent historic decision of the Supreme Court, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz led federal government has lost the moral grounds to rule the country.
