No politics on relief, rehab for flood-hit people: Sherpao

The provincial chairman of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Sikander Hayat Khan Sherpao said on Monday that all political parties’ leadership should play their due role in facilitating the people suffered due to unprecedented floods in different provinces, adding that rehabilitation and relief activities should be kept above the politics.
Sikandar Sherpao expressed regret over the people playing politics over the flood affected relief and rehabilitation activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that there was great disappointment and anger among those families who lost their homes, livestock livelihood in the recent flash floods adding that making political scores over flood affected people must be condemned.
He was addressing a public meeting in Charsadda where a number of Awami National Party (ANP) local leaders announced to join QWP.
They rejected PTI leader Imran Niazi’s proposal to give province status to all divisions, terming it as a plan to divide the Pakhtuns. He said that the Pakhtuns were already divided under conspiracy and now plans are being hatched by PTI to divide them into more parts which will not be allowed to succeed under any circumstances. He said that we want a united province for Pakhtuns. and our practical struggle for this will continue.
Sikandar Sherpao rejected the proposal of PTI chairman in which he had proposed to give the province the status of divisions.
On this occasion, leading workers of ANP and PTI including Liaquat Shah, Abdul Hameed, Bacha Gul, Syed Alam Shah, Syed Ahmed Shah, Jamal Shah, Gul Rehman and others joined QWP.
