ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while removing objections on Bushra Bibi’s petition seeking suspension of her conviction in Non-Sharia Nikah case has adjourned the hearing till Thursday. Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of IHC took up the case for hearing Tuesday. Counsels Suleman Safdar, Usman Riaz Gul and others appeared in the court on behalf of Bushra Bibi. Counsel Suleman Safdar told the court my case has become more easy after arguments by Salman Akram Raja that how the decision of Non-Sharia case was announced within 3 days. My client was awarded 7 years sentence. Sessions court took 3 months on trial court decision.
The counsel said the petitioner is old age woman. Neither she is being granted bail nor is the decision being announced.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb inquired what will you say in respect of registrar office objections. Salman Sahb your plea is very nominal. Is there any such precedent what you are demanding.
The counsel said there are very rare examples in Pakistan. But in India there are several examples available.
Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb remarked Salman Sahb go along with the matters with ease.
Salman Safdar told the court Sir, Raja Sahb and we are on one page. The case cannot go to additional sessions judge instead of session judge. If the trial can be completed within two days till late night hours then appeal can also be completed. Chief Justice had suspended sentences in Toshakhana gift case within 30 seconds.
The court while removing registrar office objections fixed Bushra Bibi petition for hearing till Thursday.
