Nutrition program for tribal districts received public appreciation

In order to support the primary health care system in the tribal districts of the province, the Nutrition International held a meeting with Provincial Health Department and government officials from erstwhile Fata here on Friday.
Nutrition International is implementing its project “Iron Folic Acid Supplementation to Address the issues of Maternal Anemia in Pakistan” to support and sustain the primary health care services during COVID pandemic.
The activities of the projects have been launched at seven newly merged districts of KP in support of the health department and concerned district administration.
The program support includes with provision of Iron Folic Acid supplements for 79000 Pregnant women, Safe Delivery Kits for 12300, Personal Protection Equipment, 2400 Maternal Anemia Posters, 900 Sehat Ki Dastak for LHWs, the support package was also embedded with technical support to capacitate the health care providers and frontline health workers on infection prevention and control and inter-personal counseling skill respectively.
Nutrition International presented program progress to district health officers of tribal districts and provincial health departments during September 2021 – June 2022.
Nutrition International thanked the provincial and district health departments for their support in COVID-19 Emergency Response Project for Tribal Districts. Health department officials also acknowledged and appreciated the contribution of Nutrition International for their support to the health department.
