Adviser to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Health, Ihtesham Ali, has confirmed that six suspected cases of Congo virus have been reported in the province so far in 2025, of which three have been confirmed positive.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the health advisor said that the Health Department had already issued a public advisory before Eid to help citizens take timely precautionary measures against the Congo virus.
He noted that health teams responded promptly and effectively to the confirmed cases.
Ihtesham Ali revealed that on June 6, three Congo virus patients were admitted to Hayatabad Medical Complex.
“Unfortunately, one patient in critical condition could not survive, while the other two are now in stable condition and recovering well, “said CM aide on health.
He added that three earlier suspected cases, brought to various hospitals, were not confirmed and those individuals have since fully recovered and returned home.
The health advisor urged the public to remain vigilant, adopt safety measures when handling animals, especially during the Eid season, and seek immediate medical attention in case of any suspicious symptoms.
