SHEIKHUPURA: At least one person died and seven others injured in armed clash between two groups over land dispute here on Thursday. Police said that armed men of Virk and Gandhi Group which were in dispute over ownership of a piece of land traded fire in Mohallah Ariyan Wala of Sheikhupura. One person was killed in cross firing while seven others were critically injured. The body and injured were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities. In line with directives of DPO Muhammad Salahuddin Ghazi, heavy contingent of police was deployed at hospital where the injured were treated to avoid an untoward occurrence. Meanwhile, a case in the incident was also registered at concerned police station and investigation was in progress. INP
