One million tree plantation target achieved by forest dept: Abid Majeed

The department of forest, environment and wildlife Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has achieved its plantation target by planting more than one-million saplings in the Monsoon Tree Planting Campaign.
Secretary forest, environment and wildlife Abid Majeed the department achieved its set target in a single day and planted more than one million saplings.
He said that following the instructions of the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan tree plantation drive would be continued for a better environment of the province.
The Chief Conservator KP Ijaz Qadir while sharing the details claimed that the department organized 161 events in the last one day, 3 lakh 40 thousand, 700 saplings have been planted while 6 lakh 69 thousand 265 saplings have been distributed to the local community.
A total of 1009965 saplings have been planted in various districts of the province, especially the southern circle, the combined districts of Lower and Upper Hazara wire shed and circles of East and West Malakand.
He said that forests are not only national wealth but also very important for the survival of life, therefore along with the efforts of the government, every class of concern and every individual should be encouraged to promote forests and protect the environment from pollution.
