Despite the tall claims of government, there are 1.8 million out of school children in Balochistan. The education sector in the province is neglected and despite massive education spending, the schools are deprived of basic needs. In Balochistan 0.5 million children attend private educational institutions”.
This was revealed by president All Balochistan Private School Association Jaffar Khan Kakar, while speaking at annual parents day function held at Islamia high school here on Friday. The function was attended by senior teachers, parents and students in a large number.
The students presented Urdu, Pashto and English speeches, tubules and Pashto traditional dance ‘Attan’.
ABPSA Secretary General Nazar Barech while speaking shed light on the history and geographical importance of Zhob.
“The students are our asset and the teachers are associated with a noble profession. The education sector in Balochistan needs reforms,” he said.
Addressing on the occasion chairman of the association Saleem Nasar, Iqra residential school head Rehmat Ghaznavi, president Government Teachers Association Usman Akhter Mandokhail, former president Shafiq Mandokhail, Hassan Mandokhail, Syed Mubeen Shah Akhwadnzada and Haji Sultan Nasar termed the students greatest national asset. They said there are thousands of government-run schools besides hundreds of private schools in the province. The public education sector has not been paid attention despite the passage of seven decades.
School principal Abid Nasar said that in Zhob district 20,000 students are enrolled in 50 private institutions. In the district 1500 poor students are getting free education in private schools.
The guests gave away prizes to students for their performance. Abid Nasar presented souvenirs and traditional turbans to the guests and thanked to all for their active participation.
