In a remarkable effort to empower and uplift the women of Peochar Swat, Pak Army and Frontier Corps North established the Women Skill Centre. This initiative, as part of the Women Outreach Program, has received invaluable assistance from local elders and the District Welfare Organisation. Furthermore, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have been actively engaged to promote the center’s activities, providing a source of livelihood for the women of the area. Since its inauguration, the Women Skill Centre has already registered 30 enthusiastic participants. To facilitate their skill development, the center is equipped with sewing machines and essential classroom accessories, such as chairs and tables, all provided free of cost.
Additionally, raw materials required for the skill training are also being generously supplied. The premises for the Women Skill Centre have been generously donated by the former Chairman of the Village Council in Peochar. Renovation and refurbishment of the facility were carried out by the dedicated teams of Pak Army and Frontier Corps North. To ensure the smooth operation of the center, a local teacher and a maid have been hired. The impact of this initiative is already being felt throughout the community, with local women expressing their happiness and gratitude. They view the Women Skill Centre as a valuable gift from Pak Army and Frontier Corps North, providing them with a unique opportunity to enhance their skills and improve their livelihoods.
