NEW YORK: Pakistan has brushed aside misleading and baseless allegations by Indian representative at the UN Security Council (UNSC). Pakistan said remarks by India in fact is bid to divert attention from reality. India’s record is replete with blatant violation of human rights and international law. Atrocities in Occupied Kashmir and exploitation and persecution of Muslims, Christians, and Dalits is continuing. Inviting reference to 1971 is a bid to distort the history. India itself has defied the charter. Homes of Muslims are being attacked, their massacre is continuing and they are being forced to change their religion. India’s governing elite, infused with Hindutva ideology, had unleashed persecution upon Muslims, Christians, and Dalits. Hundreds of mosques including Babri mosque have been demolished and attempts have been made to eliminate cultural heritage of Muslims. “We will keep supporting the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their rightous struggle for self-determination,” the envoy stated. Islamabad urged India to reverse its “illegal actions” in the disputed region, bring an end to the cycle of violence, and fully implement the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. Online
