Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir said Pakistan wants stable and long-lasting bilateral ties with Turkey in all fields including Defence.
In a meeting with Turkish Ambassador Sadik Babur Girgin, the defence minister said defence ties between the two countries further strengthened with the visit of Turkish Commander General Hulusi Akar.
The two discussed overall regional situation, political and security updates along with matters of bilateral interests.
The defence minister also thanked Turkey for provision of Fleet Tanker to Pakistan Navy, saying Pakistan wants to enhance its ties with brotherly country in every field of life.
He paid tribute to efforts of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan in promotion of democracy and development of the country.
The defence minister also appraised the role of Ankara in the Syria crisis saying situation can be better by not coming party in the situation and try to resolve the matter through diplomatic channels.

CPEC to play vital role in boosting Pakistan relation with Saudi Arabia: Defence Minister
Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Ahmad Al-Maliki has called on defence minister Khurram Dastgir and the two have reiterated resolve to further fortify the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting the two leaders agreed on further boosting the bilateral relations in prevailing situation for the sake of better regional cooperation.
Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir said that Pak-Saudi ties will be further strengthened. Stability will come in the relations with the passage of time, he hoped.
He held China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will play a vital role in further beefing up ties between the two countries. He also said that due to CPEC Saudi Arabia will stand connected with China and South Asia. He hoped that CPEC will bring about development in entire region.
