With the arrested of two persons, who were carrying fake currency notes worth Rs250,000, from a car near Lahore Bus Stand.
SHO Gulbahar Police Station, Rafiq Khan said that action was taken on the bisis of secret information.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ashraf and Muhammad Idris residents of Punjab city Bahawalpur.
The arrested passengers were trying to smuggle fake currency notes from Peshawat to Punjab but police busted them.
A case has been registered against the accused and investigation has been started.
Arrested suspects have confessed their involvement in counterfeit currency smuggling.
