PESHAWAR: The district administration of Peshawar, in collaboration with the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), has launched an operation against encroachments on Ring Road, during the operation dozens of illegal constructions and encroachments were demolished . According to Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Sarmad Salim Akram, the operation was carried out in light of orders from the provincial government, District administration and PDA officials participating in the operation alongside a heavy contingent of police deployed to prevent any untoward incidents. During the operation, heavy machinery was used to demolish the illegal encroachments and several individuals were arrested on the spot for violating the law and illegal construction. Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Salim Akram said on the occasion that operations against illegal encroachments will continue indiscriminately in District Peshawar and strict action will be taken against repeated offenders. He appealed to the public to cooperate with the district administration to eradicate encroachments and free Peshawar from the encroachment mafia.
