Peshawar police launches crackdown on drug trafficking, 42 held

In a move to rid society of the menace of drugs and protect the youth from the dangers of illicit substances, the Capital City Police Peshawar has launched a special operation targeting drug traffickers.
A statement issued here on Sunday , police registered 38 cases and arrested 42 suspects and recovered over 31 kilograms of ice, 27 kilograms of hashish, 3 kilograms of heroin, and several bottles of alcohol.
CCPO Qasim Ali Khan and SSP (Operations) Masood Ahmed have urged the continuation and intensification of efforts in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking.
They have also organized awareness seminars in educational institutions to educate students about the harmful effects of drugs, while engaging citizens at the community level to raise awareness.
To further strengthen the crackdown, the Divisional Superintendents of Police (SPs) and all SDPOs have been tasked with closely monitoring past offenders and ensuring strict enforcement of anti-drug measures.
