Parks and Horticulture Authority Rawalpindi is actively working to make the city green, beautiful and promote tree plantation. Along with working on various beautification projects across the city, in the light of special instructions from DG PHA Rawalpindi Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, PHA is also ensuring the growth and care of various types of flowers and plants in its nurseries, so that self-sufficiency in the growth and availability of plants is ensured and the city can be helped in making it green.
PHA Rawalpindi is ensuring the growth of various types of plants in its nurseries on a daily basis by using different types of seeds in a brilliant manner. These plants include shade trees and many other types of plants. Good plant breeds are also being produced by planting seeds, which are now proving to be helpful in enhancing the beauty of the city and promoting a green environment. With this process, PHA will be able to maintain self-sufficiency in the availability of plants. Plants are also being grown through air layering. This process is called tying a knot in common parlance, through which a knot is tied to the branch of the plant, from which its roots emerge and after completing the growth process, the plant becomes ready for use.
Plants produced in nurseries are planted in different areas of Rawalpindi city, which has increased the beauty of the city and is promoting a green environment. DG PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha said that workers in the nurseries of PHA Rawalpindi are continuing the care and breeding of flowers and plants and horticulture work with great skill. The nurseries meet the need for planting plants in the city’s parks and green belts. PHA has become self-sufficient in terms of availability of plants. He said that Rawalpindi city will be made green according to the vision of the Punjab government.
