Pledges made with tribal people to be fulfilled, PTI leaders

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former MNA Iqbal Afridi and MPA Muhammad Shafiq Afridi have asked the federal government to fulfill its commitments made with the tribal people during the FATA merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, PTI leader from district Khyber Muhammad Shafiq Afridi said that former Prime Minister Imran Khan did its part to alleviate tribal people from decades long deprivations.
“Imran Khan increased the development budget of the tribal areas from Rs 24 billion to Rs 150 billion but the incumbent government reversed it,” he alleged.
MNA Iqbal Afridi criticized the incumbent government for halting the funds of erstwhile Fata for health Card facility to the tribal people.
Muhammad Shafiq Afridi said that in the light of the report of the Sartaj Aziz Committee, the provinces had promised to give 3 percent of their share in the NFC to the merged districts, but none other than Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had fulfilled their promise.
Chief Minister of KP paying special attention to the development of the tribal areas but the central government did nothing for the merged district development, he added.
