Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur on Thursday eulogized the hectic efforts by all departments concerned for rescuing 27 stranded people soon after flash floods in Gomal Area of District Tank.
In a statement, the minister said that soon after flood, District Administration, Rescue 1122, Security Forces and all resources were mobilized to rescue the stranded people.
He said that a total 35 people including infants, children, women and men were rescued safely after hectic rescue efforts.
Talking to media, Deputy Commissioner Tank Hameedullah Khattak said that all the people trapped including minor kids and women in the flood have been rescued safely.
He said that Pakistan Army, FC, District Administration, Tank Police, Rescue 1122 and local volunteers have conducted a joint operation to rescue all the people trapped due to flash flood. He said that the administration immediately started rescue operation to rescue people.
The local people and elders highly praised the heroic rescue efforts of District Administration, Rescue 1122, Tank Police and Security Forces.
According to reports, 27 people were stranded while crossing water channel in Gomal area. The rescue operation was started timely and continued till late early morning.
An affectee Muhammad Saleem said that he was going his village Raghza when he was trapped due to flash flood. He said that he was thankful to all the departments for timely action rescue operation, adding that he was safely returned to his home.
