PM appreciates Sardar Family’s role in generating business, investment opportunities

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appreciated the contributions of Chairman of The Centaurus and President of Al-Tamimi Sardar Mohammad Ilyas Khan and his family in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Pakistan and his efforts to attract business from the Gulf countries.

He expressed these views during a meeting with Sardar Mohammad Ilyas Khan and Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan CEO The Centaurus who called on him at the Prime Minister’s House.

Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Muhammad Hanif Abbasi was also present on the occasion.

Sardar Mohammad Ilyas Khan the recipient of Sitara-e-Pakistan briefed the Prime Minister about his efforts to attract investment in the country.

He informed the prime minister of his efforts to secure employment for over 13,000 Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia. These overseas Pakistanis are sending PKR 15 billion in remittances to Pakistan, he further said.

About the Gulf countries’ business community, he said there was huge potential to engage the Gulf countries’ business community in new projects. Pakistan will soon be exporting meat through Fauji Foundation along with several other food products to Al-Tamimi, he said.

During his recent visit to the Middle East, JVs and services contracts were also discussed with FWO, NLC and several other local organizations, he informed the prime minister.

He underscored the significance of implementing a streamlined investor facilitation mechanism for developing one window and facilitating ease of doing business, reducing the policy rate, and providing tax incentives. Additionally, he highlighted the need for formalizing a comprehensive tourism policy to attract foreign investors.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif endorsing his efforts reassured the government of Pakistan would facilitate foreign investment by providing them a hassle-free business and investment environment. Ease in doing business is the top priority of every foreign company and investor and the Pakistani government is determined to ensure that, said the prime minister.
