Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended heartfelt felicitations to the Hindu community in Pakistan on their religious festival of Holi.
In his message, he noted the festival of Holi reflects societal harmony through the fusion of beautiful colours. The traditions of Holi are a symbol of Pakistan’s cultural diversity. The Prime Minister said the Hindu community is an invaluable part of our society, playing a positive role in the social cohesion, economic development, prosperity and peaceful coexistence of the country.
He said Constitution of Pakistan ensures religious freedom and the protection of human rights for all citizens regardless of colour, race, religion or creed.
He said the government is the protector of the constitutional rights of all minorities. In this context, he said government initiatives include the Interfaith Harmony Policy and the Religious Tolerance Strategy
The Prime Minister emphasized the need for collective action to promote interfaith dialogue, protect places of worship and foster a social culture of mutual respect. He said we should renew our national commitment to continue our efforts for a peaceful, inclusive and prosperous future guided by the values of tolerance, compassion and unity.
