Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday expressed satisfaction with a recent Bloomberg report highlighting economic stability in Pakistan. The prime minister said that the successful agreement with the international financial institution and the timely repayment of loans were also recognised. He said that such acknowledgement clearly reflects an improvement in the government’s economic performance.
PM Shehbaz said Pakistan is now among the few countries that have demonstrated economic progress over the past twelve months.
He affirmed that the country is steadily moving towards a stronger economic future. The premier attributed this improvement to the consistent efforts and dedication of the government’s economic team, which has led to enhanced economic indicators.
It is pertinent to note that Pakistan has been ranked among the world’s top emerging economies following a significant drop in its default risk in a major boost to investor sentiment and international credibility. According to a new report by the globally renowned financial data agency Bloomberg, Pakistan’s probability of default has declined from 59% to 47% over the past 12 months — a notable improvement of 1100 basis points.
