ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif chaired meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday to review the internal security situation and implementation of National Action Plan. INP reported.
The meeting discussed at length the internal security situation of the country and different aspects of the National Action Plan.
The meeting observed that after achieving successful results from operation Zarb e Azb in FATA, terrorists are nowchnging their targets other than the state institutions out of desperation.
In his remarks, the Prime Minister said that we are in a state of war with an ideology that wants to change our way of life.
He said the government is committed to take all necessary steps to ensure that blood spilled in Quetta carnage does not go waste.
The Prime Minister emphasized on seamless coordination between law enforcement agencies as well as among the provincial governments and the federal government to achieve optimum results within a short period of time.
He expressed his resolve that we will make Pakistan secure from every kind of terrorism and extremism. He said the country has embarked upon a right track and we will enable every citizen to reap the benefits of a secure, stable and prosperous Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said that terrorists think that they can sow the seeds of disharmony and disunity in the nation. The nation is united and supports the government to stay on the course of completely eliminating the terrorists from Pakistani society.
The Prime Minister decided to call for a broader meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) for detailed discussions on National Action Plan.
Minster for Interior Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan and National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janjua briefed the meeting on how terrorist organizations are attacking soft targets.
The meeting was also attended by Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Sartaj Aziz and Tariq Fatemi and other senior government officials.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says all necessary measures will e taken to make the world understand the plight and the legitimate struggle of the people of Kashmir.
He was chairing a preparatory meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday in connection with next month’s United Nations General Assembly session.
The meeting was attended among others by Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative at UN Dr Maliha Lodhi and the country’s Ambassador to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani.
The meeting reviewed the agendas to be included in the next session of United Nations General Assembly in which Prime Minister is expected to participate.
Prime Minister said it is an obligation for him as prime minister of Pakistan to become the voice of Kashmiris who have been oppressed in the Occupied Kashmir.
He said that denial of right to self-determination to Kashmiris is one of the persistent failures of the United Nations.

He said right of self-determination is the basic rights of Kashmiris and we will make every effort to make Kashmiris captain of their own ship.
