ISLAMABAD : Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to PMC and other respondents and sought reply from them in petition filed against news rules of admission into medical and dental colleges.
The miscellaneous petition filed against the new rules of admission came up for hearing before single bench of IHC presided over by Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb Friday.
Ashtar Ausaf advocate and barrister Abdul Rahim appeared in the court on behalf of Private Medical Colleges Association (Pmay )
Ashtar Ausaf took the plea during the hearing of the case that Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has withdrawn the notice issued in connection with fees and marking in medical and dental colleges. We don’t seek order from the court in connection with withdrawal of notification related to new rules of fee and marking by PMC.
The counsel for PMAY requested the court the central petition be fixed for hearing. PMC be barred from passing new rules and implementing them. PMC be barred from pressurizing medical colleges and universities and taking their full control.
Ashtar Ausaf counsel for PMAY said PMC formed categories of colleges and universities on its sweet will.
The court inquired ‘can you tell how the PMC formed categories.
The counsel for PAMY said it is not in the jurisdiction of PMC to form categories of colleges and universities. The powers for grading medical colleges and universities rest with Higher Education Commission.
The court while directing registrar office to send written order of the court in respect of the case to PMC adjourned the hearing of the case till September 16.
