LAHORE
Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) has continued its rescue and relief operations in flood-affected areas, with Khidmat-e-Khalq volunteers working around the clock to assist families affected by rising floodwaters.
Relief activities are underway in Rana Town, Rachna Town, Ferozewala, Pathan Colony and other affected localities on the outskirts of Lahore. Using six rescue boats, PMML volunteers have safely evacuated 2,914 stranded people and 150 livestock from flooded areas to secure locations.
The organization is also providing cooked meals to affected communities. According to PMML, around 7,500 stranded people are receiving freshly prepared food every day. In addition, 10 mobile medical boat units have been deployed to provide healthcare services, with 1,360 patients receiving free medical treatment, medicines and first aid so far.
PMML Khidmat-e-Khalq Chairman Chaudhry Shafiq-ur-Rehman Waraich said severe flooding has disrupted life across Lahore’s suburban areas, leaving many families stranded.
He said PMML volunteers have been carrying out rescue, relief and medical operations without discrimination since the emergency began.
He added that serving people in times of crisis is both a humanitarian and national responsibility. PMML will continue providing food, medical care and evacuation services until affected families are safely rehabilitated.
Waraich reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting flood victims and said relief operations will continue until every affected family receives the assistance needed for recovery. He added that public service remains the core mission of PMML’s welfare network.
