The Khidmat-e-Khalq Department of the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) Lahore has launched a tree plantation drive at Nasir Bagh as part of its efforts to promote environmental protection and sustainability in the city.
Chairman Khidmat-e-Khalq Department PMML Chaudhry Shafeeq-ur-Rehman Waraich, General Secretary PMML Lahore Chaudhry Hameed-ul-Hassan Gujjar, President Khidmat-e-Khalq Department Lahore Ammar Haneef, and other leaders attended the event and planted saplings to mark the beginning of the campaign.
Addressing the ceremony, Chaudhry Shafeeq-ur-Rehman Waraich emphasized that tree plantation is vital for human survival and environmental improvement. He noted that despite significant infrastructure development in Lahore, efforts to control pollution have not been adequate. He stressed the need for immediate and effective measures to address the growing environmental challenges.
He urged the government to adopt a comprehensive and long-term strategy to address environmental challenges, including modern water management systems, effective dam management, large-scale plantation drives, and strict enforcement of environmental laws.

On the occasion, Chaudhry Hameed-ul-Hassan Gujjar announced that the PMML Lahore chapter aims to plant 10,000 trees across the city.
