PESHAWAR: People from various walks of life in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday welcomed the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar Programme, terming it a landmark initiative aimed at providing affordable housing to low-income segments of society. A retired government servant, Misal Khan, praised Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for launching the five-year housing scheme worth Rs3.2 trillion, which seeks to support the construction of 500,000 homes across the country. He said the initiative has brought hope to low-income citizens who lack the financial resources to build their own houses, adding that it would not only facilitate home ownership but also generate employment and stimulate economic activity.
“The programme will benefit labourers, painters, marble owners, engineers, electricians and other segments of the workforce, while also boosting allied industries,” he added.
The people of all provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir will be benefited.
