City Division Police on Friday arrested 10 suspects in a crackdown against various dacoit groups.
The arrested accused were involved in snatching mobile phones from a local journalist earlier this week.
Police arrested the suspects from the jurisdictions including Paharipura Police Station, Bhan Mari Police Station, Phandu Police Station and Faqirabad Police Station.
Police said that the suspects were experts in changing IME numbers.
The would smuggle valuable mobile phones to the neighboring country of Afghanistan.
During the operation, a total of 86 valuable mobile phones, five stolen motorcycles including a motor car and more than one lakh rupees in cash have also been recovered from their possession.
SP City Atiq Shah clarified on this occasion that the crackdown against the elements involved in street crime will continue.
He said that under the direction of SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi a special plan has been drawn up to control street crimes.
Additional personnel have been deployed and intelligence based operations against outlaws had been intensified.
