Police arrest 578 murder suspects in Peshawar

The Capital City Police claimed on Tuesday to have registered as many as 371 murder cases and arrested 555 suspects, 578 cases of suspect murder were registered and more than 1005 suspects were arrested during the ongoing year. A statement issued by the capital police said that following the instructions of CCPO Peshawar Syed Ashfaq Anwar, a crackdown on the suspects involved in murders, property grabbers, and other criminals has been intensified.
Similarly, during this year, successful actions have been taken against criminals throughout the district, during which various criminals, including anti-social elements, have been successfully arrested.
During the operations, 4965 cases have been registered,while 5269 suspects involved in the cases were also arrested. Among the accused, there are also other criminal suspects including air firing, weapons display, and 456 Kalashnikovs, 45 Kalakovs, 543 rifles, 283 short guns, 26 handgrenades, 5815 pistols, more than 214,000 different bore cartridges have also been recovered. CCPO Peshawar Syed Ashfaq Anwar has also issued special instructions to the members of the DRC to make the Jirga system more functional according to Pakhtun traditions to control the incidents of murders, murders due to property and other disputes and for quick resolution of disputes. 
It has been decided to further increase the capacity, while in this context the divisional SPs have been assigned a special task. The Department of Home Affairs will be contacted to verify the arms and licenses, it was also decided that licensees caught repeatedly will be recommended for confiscation of arms.  
CCPO Peshawar Syed Ashfaq Anwar has expressed satisfaction over the crackdown on criminals, while using all available resources across the district to maintain law and order. directed to accelerate further, Special blockades on internal and external routes,search and strike operations, city patrolling, Ababil squad and local police-mobile patrols have also been increased in the district under the supervision of SPs.
