Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmad has directed law enforcement agencies to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s celebrations in the city.
A high-level meeting was held at the CCPO’s office, attended by senior police officials, to review security measures for the festivities. The meeting decided to deploy additional security personnel, including bomb disposal units, sniffer dogs, and female police officers, at churches and residential areas of the Christian community.
The police will strengthen checkpoints and surveillance at city entrances and exits, increase patrols and deployments around churches and sensitive areas, and use CCTV cameras and control rooms for monitoring.
Strict action will be taken against hoarding, firing, and vandalism, with a zero-tolerance policy against anti-social elements. Special measures will also be taken to prevent drifting and wheelie stunts on New Year’s Eve.
CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmad assured that the safety of citizens is the top priority of Peshawar Police, and all available resources will be utilized to ensure a peaceful celebration.
