The Landikotal police in an operation against drugs particularly ice and heroin foiled a bid to smuggle Ice drugs from Lamdikotal to Peshawar, police said on Monday.
Station house officer Adnan Afridi and addtional station house officer Azmat Wali Shinwari told daily Lead Pakistan that Landikotal Police thwarted an attempt to smuggle ice using a carry van. He said they recovered six kilograms of Ice drug worth in millions of rupees. He said they arrested four persons on the spot.
He said under the command of District Police Officer(DPO) Ria Mazhar Iqbal, police efforts against drug dealers and their facilitators were in full swing.He said a special police team led by station house officer Adnan Afridi flaged a suzuki van at Charwazai check post and recoveted ice drug from the hidden cavities of the vehicle.
The arrested suspects were identified as Usman son of Israel, Zahid son of Walid Dar, Qasim son of Haroon and Zakir son of Hikmat and case registered against them
Police said the arrested persons in inititial interrogation admitted their involvement in drug trafficking. The culprits have admitted that they were the part of an organized drug traffickers that smuggles narcotics from neighboring country Afghaniatan and distributes them throughout Pakistan.
Pokice officer Adnan Afridi said that drug addiction was a curse and appealed local leaders, students and scholars to work together to eradicate the drug menace.
