Police Martyrs Day was observed across the Khyber on Friday and rich tribute was paid to the unparalleled sacrifices of the police persons on the occasion.
In his message, District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber Saleem Khulachvi said that those police officials who laid down their lives in the line of duty were the real heroes of the police force and the nation would never forget them.
He maintained that the sacrifices of the martyrs make us realize that they have sacrificed their lives for our safe future.
On Thursday night DPO along with relatives of the Shuhadas lit candles at the memorial of the martyrs police personnel and presented a salute.
Separate celebrations in connection of the Day had been organized in all three tehsils of Khyber.
On Thursday night DPO,Saleem Kulachvi along relatives of the Shuhadas lit candles at the memorials of the martyrs police personnel at Jamrud and a smart contingent of police presented salute on the occasion.
In Landi Kotal Quran Khwani was held in the mosque, inside the tehsil compound and prayers were offered for the martyrs police.
In the same way Station House Officer (SHO) flanked by Tehsildar Dawood Afridi and other officials put floral wreaths at the graves of the Shuhadas.
They visited families of the Martyred cops and presented them with gifts.
Banners of martyred police photos were also hovered at important sites to pay homage to them.
As per police department so far 26 police cops in Khyber have embraced Shahdat in the line of duty.
