Police to foil any misadventure of miscreants with iron hands: IG

The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan has said that Dera Ismail Khan is a tough region in terms of establishing law and order where serious challenges and threats of terrorism and sectarianism are exist. He, However, expressed full confidence over the capabilities of DI Khan police to foil any misadventure of the miscreants with iron hands.
This, he said, while addressing a Police Darbar of DI Khan Region Police at DI Khan Police lines today. It was his first visit to his home town after assuming the charge of his office as IGP. All rank Police Officers and Jawans of districts DIKhan, Tank and South Waziristan largely attended the Darbar. Regional Police Officers DI Khan Abdul Ghafoor Afridi and DPOs of allied districts were also present on this occasion.
The police Chief informed that two- thirds of the terrorist incidents in the country take place in KP added that in most of the incidents, law enforcement agencies especially the KP police are targetted. He revealed that DI Khan and Bannu Region police were mostly affected in these attacks. He added that in southern districts police check posts were frequently attacked, however, he added that the valiant Jawans of KP police become stumbling rock against terrorists and repulsed these attacks with extra- ordinary bravery and gallantry acts. The IGP informed that in order to increase the efficiency of the DI Khan Police they are being equipped with modern weaponry to combat the confronting challenges in an effective manner.
The IGP disclosed that by paying more attention to the prevention of terrorism, other issues of policing including, service structure, promotion and welfare have been affected. He, however, said that steps on priority basis are being taken to redress these confronting issues. He said that when jawans get opportunities for promotion they will put more efforts in the field.
The participants of the darbar were directed to perform its sacred duty whole heartedly and earn good name and fame for their profession through good deeds and best policing. The real face and reputation of the police make place in mind when the public appreciate their work in their absence, remarked the IGP. The IGP made it clear that those earning bad name for the Police would find no place in the force. The IGP informed that KP Police have passed through very difficult times and now they would be compensated and steps would be taken for better education and best health care facilities of their children. The IGP gave patient hearing to the problems of the police officers and jawans in the darbar and issued necessary instructions for its solution on the spot.
Earlier, the IGP presided over a meeting of DI Khan Region Police officers. The RPO gave a detailed briefing to the IGP about the confronting challenges and the police steps taken for maintenance of law and order. The IGP in light of the briefing issued some necessary instructions to the police high-ups.
