Police urged party workers to abide by discipline during bye-elections

District Police Officer (DPO) Kurram, Arbab Shafiullah Friday urged political leaders and workers to abide by rules and cooperate with police to maintain peace during bye- elections.
Chairing a meeting in Sadda Jirga Hall to review security measures, he also directed polling staff to follow rules for peaceful holding of bye-election. He said that peaceful environment and cooperation of polio workers is of supreme importance for peaceful conduct of electoral process.
He said that necessary security arrangements have been made for 1143 polling stations among which 119 have been declared extreme sensitive while 24 polling stations are put in category of sensitive.
He said appropriate police force and elite force would also be deputed to maintain peace during electoral process.
He said display of arms and aerial firing would be banned and violators would be dealt strictly and indiscriminately.
